Gear slot interactions
Seven equipment slots define combat power: weapon, helmet, chest, legs, two spells, two rings, sigil. Class determines weapon and armor type — Warrior cannot equip Mage staves.
Rarity ladder: Common through Legendary from drops, then Secret and Fabled from crafting at level 70+ and 215+ respectively. Spells and sigils follow different upgrade rules than weapons and armor.
Gems fund rerolls at Rerolls & Transfers station — weapons, armor, rings reroll once each (purple Rerolled mark). Budget gems for level 70+ prep, not early dungeon drops.
Crafting vs drop gear
Legendary drops carry you to Secret craft thresholds. Never treat Legendary as endgame — Secret armor inherits Pot from Legendary base permanently.
Fabled weapons at 215+ represent weapon ceiling with three perk slots. Armor ceiling is Secret — no Fabled armor tier exists.

Upgrade order veterans recommend
Full Secret armor (survivability) → Secret rings (stat spikes) → Fabled weapon (burst) → sigil min-max (rotation). Deviating wastes materials on DPS before you can survive Calamity.
Coin upgrades in lobby raise item level caps — fully upgrade Legendary before Secret craft to maximize inherited stats.
Read crafting guide and Potential guide before committing Calamity materials.
Trade chat abbreviations like "LF 93+ Pot helm" mean players seek high-Pot helmet bases before Secret craft — learn item vocabulary on game terms page.
